W6: 6wk Atkins challenge wrap up

Aug 13, 2010

MAN!! W5 totally flew by!! there's been so much on my mind lately, I didnt realize until today (the end of W6) that I didnt post a W5 update!
Oh well - moving on....

To recap - 6-wks at a time/ 10-lbs at a time.

The goal: Lose 59 (60) lbs & get back down to my goal weight - 165 lbs.
The plan:  Rotate meal plans every 6 weeks in an attempt to keep my metabolism jumping. Combine a meal plan w/ consistent (daily exercise).
Mental - Consider my weight loss plan in increments of 10-lbs at a time so it is less intimidating & seemingly overwhelming than needing to lose 60 lbs.
Physical - Attack my weight loss by doing 45-60 min's. of cardio 4-5 days/wk + 45-60 min's weight lifting 4-5 days/wk alternating upper/core/lower/core/upper muscle groups, & 1 hr of yoga 1x/wk
Meal plan:  I started with the Atkins program on June 29, 2010.

To date, (although I put on a lb in the last week) I've achieved my goal of losing 10 lbs in a 6 wk time period. Additionally, Ive achieved holding to a consistent WO schedule for at least 5 wks.
Measurments results weren't that bad. not as good as i anticipated - but still, not that bad...
Here are my #s from Jan, when i finally became cognizant of my issue & decided to turn it around.  1/25/10

Its now the end of summer vacation & I'm dreading the "back to school" thing. LOL why?!?!?? Well, although I may not be going back to school, my son is.
Which means change is in the air...
1) the end of my AM WOs
2) the realization that if i want to continue on this 6wk challenge program & ultimately achieve my WL goal, im going to start a PM WO schedule & I dont particularly like that. Ive gotten use to the AM WO & i know how more than uber hard it is for me to literally drag my a$$ to the gym after work (largely b/c im SUPER TIRED & tend to go on auto pilot who makes a b-shot str8 for home).
3) the end of the first 6 wks & the atkins plan.
4) i need to pick another meal plan.

I have to say that over all, I am very happy with my personal dedication over the past 6 wks. Ive never worked out for more than 3 days consistently, & here ive been committed to making it happen for at least 5 out of 6 weeks in a row! thats simply amazing to me. So much so that I am afraid of reverting & going back (if i just stop working out).
Im also concerned about which meal plan to take on next.
I want to continue my journey & the over all plan of "6-wks at a time/ 10-lbs at a time" but poor planning beyond the first 6 weeks has left me with some thinking to do...
