Surgery done 5/28/10 yeah!!

Jun 01, 2010

I had surgery vsg friday 5/28   home sunday 5/30   i am amazed at how well it all went,  don't get me wrong it was no picnic but i was expecting it to be much worst,  i think i would have been scared if my wonderful daughter had not been there with me,  she is such a great gift in my life,  she came and took me in and stayed at the hospital with me,  we are very close and i think i was so worried about her (she was freaking out) that i  wasn't so worried about myself,   thankfully we both lived thru it,   i have had to fight every step of the way for this surgery so i knew in my heart and soul that the only hope for me to turn around the direction my health and therefore life was heading was this surgery,  my surgeon is a great surgeon, he has published books and designed instruments used in bariatric surgeries so even though he hadn't done a lot of sleeves i had every confidence in his ability,  he knows his way around a tummy, and my first visit with him was 1/4/10 where he kinda smiled when i told him i wanted the sleeve and told  that i would change my mind,  and i kinda smiled and said   on no i wont,  i knew this was my answer,  and he said that because he knew my insurance would deny me, which they did, so in all the time i was in appeal  he has done several sleeves,   the nurses that took care of me were so good to me and if you listen to them and do what they say it does help, so all in all i am amazed at how it all went and i am so grateful that this part of it is over,  now onto the healing and learning how to live with my new tummy,   i really appreciate all the love and support from my OH family,  and i'm looking forward to feeling and looking better,
