My surgery was done by Dr. Eldo Frezza. He turned out to be pretty bad. My insurance company assigned me to Dr. Acosta for follow-ups, and he is absolutely adorable. Much better care than my original surgeon, and nice looking to boot! ha ha. I feel lucky to have him!

OMG!! 3 DAYS!!

Not counting today, I have 3 more full days to go before I have my surgery!! WOW!!

I am getting extremely excited and also am a bit scared!

I know now that I will be coming home with a JP Drain. Meh. It's worth it. Besides, my beloved was a nurse briefly in his life, so this won't gross him out. I am quite sure he will take good care of me.

I have reserved the hotel room in El Paso, and I will be stocking up on some stuff this weekend. We will drive down there on Sunday, and if everything goes all right, we will be driving back on Wednesday.

I pray that the surgery goes fine, and that Dr. Acosta is able to take off the band and do the sleeve without any issues. I have a fear that with all of the scar tissue on my stomach, he won't be able to do the sleeve. I don't really forsee that happening, but I guess there is always that possibility.

My head has been in the clouds for the last 3 weeks, so it's VERY hard for me to concentrate today! My employees probably think I have lost my mind. ha ha ha

I will try to update as soon as I feel up to it. Please pray for a safe trip, safe surgery and speedy recovery!! Thank you so much!!

You will be fine. I will be praying for you! I had to have a gastric bypass 20 years after my stomach stapling to repair the damage that was caused by the staples coming apart. It was very successful and that was almost 8 years ago!

Let us know how you are doing when it is all over!

WOOOOOWWWW....is what I can say right now, Im new to the site & new to the band experience I had my surgery on 2/16/12...started at 326 & now at 309 as of last Wednesday...Im just in complete awe & my heart & prayers go out to you,,,people never know what someone else goes through on a daily basis until you know there story...Well I must say you are a TRUE INSPIRATION, I have also come a long way & I am proud of ME, there were so many times I could've given up, slit my wrist and just die, But I had GOD & the thought of what hurt & pain I would put on my Mom and family....I had to make a choice LIVE OR DIE so of course LIVE & I must say Im living I pray every day that I will not experience any bad issues with this band, I do have a weakness & its ICECREAM,,, so now I know it dosnt work, it burns my stomach,, let me go back a bit... had upper gi and they found malignancy cells in th lining of my tummy along w a benign tumor (SCAREYYYY!!!) So had 7 treatments of radiation and 1 trial of chemo...went for 2nd upper gi & all was good to go radiation killed the malignancy cells but had bad erosion in the lining of my tummy soooo Im on meds for the next 4 months...anywhoooo I have bad cravings when the monthly comes so I dont want that to be my downfall...my goal is 175 maybe 160 Im excited & know with focus I can do it....I pray all works out well for you & your sleeve experience is a success I will be looking forward to seeing your post...God Bless you!!!! & THANK YOU!!!! :-)

Melly, you will feel so much better!! you will not believe the difference. When I had my band out I felt 100% better in the recovery room. Felt like a brand new woman

Wishing you all the best. I did well with a band for 2 yrs but then had nothing but issues with it the 3rd yr. After much pain, it was removed and I had a RNY 5 wks ago and am doing very well. Wish I'd had the RNY 3 yrs ago instead of the band.
