Update, it's getting better.

Mar 05, 2012

So let's start with last weekend. I had terrible uncontrollable nausea all weekend which turned into uncontrollable dry heaving so I went to the emergency room.

It took 6 hours to be seen but once seen they got me some fluids and anti nausea meds and anxiety meds to help me rest. The anti nausea meds didn't work. I had an X-ray and ultrasound and they wheeled me back to my little room. About 6 hours later I paged a nurse to find out what the results were and he said they were waiting on a room for me. I was admitted at 6:30am Monday.

It was HELL. X-rays, ultrasounds, blood panel after blood panel, a HIDA scan of my gallbladder, and about 15 bags of fluid. The HIDA scan consisted of a doctor injecting me with some nuclear stuff and watching my gallbladder do its job for an hour and then making me eat half of a Hershey bar and a cup of cream, waiting an hour then scanning again. I was so scared I would dump.  Luckily I didn't and my gallbladder was sludgy but working.

Friday night I finally had an appetite but my dr didn't change my diet plan to solid foods until 5 minutes after dinner was served so they brought me broth, sf jello, and a Popsicle... I didn't eat. I told my sister to sneak me in some mashed potatoes when she came so she brought me both mashed potatoes and sweet potato. I had a few bites of each. Heaven.

Saturday morning I was supposed to be discharged but my dr didn't show up until 2 pm. I was so restless I almost signed myself out against medical advice. When I finally got out my sister wanted sushi so we went to our favorite sushi place with my best friend and cousin. I ordered avocado heaven which is a mashed avocado dish with bits of seafood and mayo baked. I hatbc
