losing inches but not pounds

Jul 23, 2012

Its SO important to measure yourself on a weekly basis! The scale does NOT always tell the tale you want to hear! i don't think I had one stall in the first 6 months.  I read many others' blogs screaming out their frustrations of stalls and felt bad for them and became happier about the couple weeks here and there that I would only lose 1lb instead of my normal 2-3 lbs.  I was grateful for not having stalls....and then the stalls starting coming.  And now they are more frequent than weight loss.  Oh well, I don't really fret much because I measure myself! I was and still am a scale obsessed freak of nature! I step on that thing at LEAST once a day, if not 5 times a day! I hate that I am so obsessed but I also love it cuz it keeps me in check!  If I gain a couple pounds in a day I drink LOTS of water the next couple days to get rid of any water weight...I double check myself of what I put into my mouth the day before to ensure I'm eating right and when I know i didn't eat right, I literally get mad at myself and tell myself..."see! that's why you shouldn't eat that crap"! lol. sounds crazy, I know! but it works for me!! But i didn't really measure myself until the stalls starting happening and it made me MUCH happier to see I WAS losing...maybe not weight, but inches! and I usually lose the most inches in the weeks that i stall the longest!! Since i had surgery 3.5 weeks ago, I can't exercise so I REALLY have to keep myself in check of what I'm eating! I have a wedding that I'm the bride in 6 weeks and I still need to lose a little to fit into that dress!! So i step on the scale and NOTHING for the past couple weeks....but I measure myself and guess what??? I'm still losing inches!! yay!!! Despite the surgery, I've managed to lose 1" around my bust, 1/2" around my waist and 1 1/2" around my hips in the past month!

i hope everyone is doing well on your journey!! xoxo
