official weigh-in
Aug 13, 2010
Had my 1st week's weigh-in Friday morning. I'm still shocked. When I met with the nutritionist and started their diet plan last Friday, she said to expect a 2-5 pound loss per week. My official starting weight last week was a shameful
420 pounds. This week - 405. Does that seem right? 15 pounds in a week? She didn't seem surprised or anything. Just stated that it was "good" and "we're on track". I'm a little confused about the whole "healthy weight loss" thing. I thought that pre-surgery, it was considered unhealthy to loose that quickly...or does that not apply when you are super morbidly obese? Can those of us in that category loose that rapidly and have no consequences? I guess I'm just looking for the downside. My past experience with rapid weight loss landed me in the hospital with a gallbladder infection and emergency surgery. Let's just say I'm happy about the loss, but a bit freaked out by the actual number.
How is it that this journey can get you happy and freaky all at the same time?
