Carbs and me.

Jan 31, 2010

I find myself two weeks into no weight loss and no significant weight loss in almost a month. I ask myself....how can this be? It is a question of Ketosis and carbs.

Ketone bodies, from the breakdown of fatty acids to acetyl groups, are also produced during this state, and are burned throughout the body.Excess ketone bodies will slowly decarboxylate into acetone. That molecule is excreted in the breath and urine. When glycogen stores are not available in the cells (glycogen is primarily created when carbohydrates such as starch and sugar are consumed in the diet), fat (triacylglycerol) is cleaved to give 3 fatty acid chains and 1 glycerol molecule in a process called lipolysis.

I have been ingesting too many carbs and have mostly retarded the Ketosis process. I feel like an idiot for allowing mtself to over carb, but i have been controlling portions and havent acutally gained weight. I have modigied my diet accordingly and am now back in control. I hope to see results again in the next few days as my carb ingestions goes way down and my protein ingestion stays the same. It too easy to miss the increas in carbs for me and now that I am aware of what happened, It won't be so easy for them to sneak back up on me. To the carbs I say BE GONE DEMONS!!! lol
