6 Month Update

Aug 28, 2014

I had gastric sleeve surgery on 2-26-14 in Charleston, WV and its been quite a ride. First of all I was in the hospital 6 days due to kidney function issues with one of my meds I was on for Congestive heart failure but that was resolved and they took  my off Lasix which was the culprit to begin with. As of March 2014 Im insulin free now and only taking metformin once a day and my thyroid meds have been reduced. My heart and blood pressure meds have not been decreased due to they are using the meds to treat my Congestive heart faiure as well so my cardiologist isn't messing with those at this time. My asthma meds have been cut in half and im feeling better than I have been. I am finishing physical therapy tomarrow which im glad of that. I was in 20 sessions of physical therapy due to tendonitis in both knees due to my increasing exercise. Im still struggling with my depression and keeping myself isolated from the rest of the world still and they have changed my antidepressant along with the continuation of my therapy that I started pre op. Right now exercise is a stuggle for me and im having to force myself to get out of the house to exercise and this WV humidity isn't helping matters as I cant tolerate heat and humidity due to my asthma and my heart failure. Im in process on attempting to go back to work as a Certifited pharmacy tech and 2.5 yrs of not working. So far ive lost 80 lbs and am so close to onederland it isn't funny( im 5 lbs away). My journey has been quite a ride however it has been worth every blood, sweat and tear that ive been through.
