Sleeved and Home!

Mar 03, 2012

Figured, I should give an update.... Well I was sleeved on Tuesday 2/28 at 1pm, was scheduled for 11 but a surgery before mine went a little longer than expected. I don't remember anything about the surgery itself. i was given versed on the way to the OR and was told to slide onto the operating table once in there and thats the last I remember. I woke up to a nurse telling me to take a deep breathe and a horrible pain/pressure in my chest, later found out it was gas. I can't lie, I was in horrible pain the first night and a little nauseous. The thing I Found odd is they didnt let me walk after my surgery, but instead they had me stay in bed that night, except to go to the restroom. The next day my pain was still pretty bad, but I was able to walk a little and that evening I was discharged. I still have pain, but not as bad and I still have some numbness near my belly button area, not sure why though. My first couple days home have been okay, just having trouble getting my protein  but I'm doing ok with my water and getting very bored with chicken and beef broth.  The first two days home, i was only on clear liquids, but today up until 14 days post-op I'm now on full liquids, then i start soft foods. I'm getting tired of the broths. I haven't weighed myself yet since surgery and I probably won't until my 2 week appt, I do know the day of surgery I weighed 325.4, which was down about 2 lbs from my consult weight. I guess thats enough for now, I'll talk to you later. Thanks to everyone for their support.
