Surgeon Testimonial

John L. Coon, M.D.,
I had my first appointment with Dr. Coon On the 29th of May. Overall my experience was great and Dr. Coon is awesome. He's very thourough and listened to everything I had to say and answered every question. He was recommended by my Insurance but I have a friend that had her surgery with him and she had a great experience. So far, so good!!!

Insurance Denial
on July 13, 2008 11:15 am

On July 7th I was denied by the insurance company.  Their letter was straight out of the benefit page and stated only that I didn't meet the requirements.  My guess is they mean that I am not 100 lbs overweight.  I have my appeal written thanks to a wonderful lady here on OH!  She is truly an angel and I am thankful that she was so willing to help.  May God Bless her and her family for being so generous and kind!!!!  Thanks Vicki!!!!!!!  Ok, so I just need to print my appeal and get my Doc to call the Medical Director of the Ins. company and I will send it in!!!  Pray for me some more please!!!!  Thanx!

My Story

Ok, So I'm finally gonna write a little about me...

I'm Ang!  I'm the mommy of 5 children....yes 5 its a long story (I'll get to that).  I'm a proud Army wife and my hubby, Mike,  is a great guy!!!  My children are: Theresa (she's my step-daughter and she's just turning 20 this month- she's my ex-husbands daughter), My son Brad is 10, My son Marcello is 9 (my hubby's son -but he's just like my own), and together Mike and I have Jayda, she's 3 and Brent is almost 9 months. The kids, hubby included, keep me very busy!  So, on to the WLS... I'm hoping that I get approved for lap band surgery.  Today, June 12th, I've completed all the required testing and have a clearance from my doc stating I can go ahead and have it as long as the insurance approves it.  Pray for me!!!
A little about where we're from and how we got here....Fort Irwin, California
My hubby and I met in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he was stationed at Fort Carson.  We met and fell in love almost instantly, awwwwww love at first sight......lol  So, we were given orders to pcs to Oklahoma but unfortunately my  mom was diagnosed with cancer at that same time and my husband was able to decline those orders and deploy with his current unit in order for me to stay close to  my mom.  Unfortunately, 8 days before my husbands deployment my mom passed away.  She was my best friend and I miss her every single day.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of her and wish she were here to see my children grow.  I'm an only child and she was a single parent so losing her has been the hardest thing in my life I've ever gone through.  That was in October of 2005.  Since then my baby Brent was born and we've moved from Colorado to California.  We're now stationed at Fort Irwin and we are close to my hubby's family so its been great.  I'm NOT a fan of bugs,  I had never seen a cockroach till I moved here.  Believe me the day I saw it I thought I might actually die,  yup, I cried allllllllll day!!!  Hello I'm from NY (did I mention that , upstate ny, near Fort Drum) anyways never had bugs in my house and I don't want any now either so living in the desert is crazy!!!!  Ok well thats about it maybe I'll write more another day.  Until then, write me if you wanna know more or you just wanna get to know me.  Ang
