18 days post op

Jan 02, 2010

Well I am 18 days post op and feeling great.  I've lost 22lbs and one dress size!  I have been walking about 1 mile every other day.  Am eating puree and regular foods and am learning that the most important thing is to eat slow plus no more than 4 oz at a time.  I must however eat every 2 to 3 hours or I get these bad gas pains all over my back and chest area,  not talking about stuck feeling but gas pains.  The doctor says it will go away with time.  I have found that although puree goes down much better, food that has to be chewed keeps me full longer.  I have gotten that stuck feeling a few times usually it is if I am not paying attention and eat too fast.  Haven't vomited at all, thank you.  Taking all of my vitamins without any trouble.  Passing gas is a bit of a challenge for my husband, exit stage right.  LOL!!!  I was told to boil califlower with a bit of salt, pepper and butter.  Then smash it and it taste just like mash potatoes, they were right!  It taste great.  There is one side effect, gas.... my husband has banded califlower from the menu!  LOL!!  2010 will be full of new tastes, new habits, new clothing, excercise and alot of loving!!!!!  Hope everyone has a great new year!
