made it through surgery. I am home and recovering. I have found it hurts more than I expected. I have mixed reviews on the hospital stay. The PCA morphine pump was good, But it did not help the severe muscle cramps I had in my abdomen. It was many hours before some one mentioned I had muscle relaxants ordered and did I want it, (????) Also it OFTEN took 1- 1 1/2 hours to get call lights answered which was a serious problem after the pca was removed and I was totally reliant on them to bring me pain meds. I am an RN and good principles of pain management were not happenning at all. On the other hand they were militant about getting me up and walking and even tho it hurt I am glad for that. I am really so glad to be home. I find I cannot even begin to consume 64 oz recommened liquids daily, If I am getting 16 - 20 it would be amazing. I am trying different things to see if I can get them down, so far wonton soup broth(no solids) and warm decaf tea settle the best, the diluted juces are too sweet as are the artificilly sweetened jello and popsicles. After a couple sips I am sure I will vomit if I take 1 more drop. So far I have avoided throwing up. tomorrow I begin full liquids. hopefully that will be more tolerable tha the sweet stuff.
I am so appreciative of all the wonderful E-mails and support I have gotten from so many of you ! thanks again!
