Well where to begin... I have battled my weight for most of my adult life. When I was about 19 it started going up and never stopped. I hoy 284 at my highest and was so disgusted with myself. I literally hated to look in the mirror and hated to have my picture taken. I started seeking Bariatric surgery about 2 years ago but because of my insurance it was never going to happen. I have always had severe acid reflux and had an end done and was diagnosed with esophagitis, hiatal hernia and other issues. Because of these problems it was considered medically neccesary to do a gastrojejunosyomy which is another medical term for RNY. I went to my seminar October 21st and then my consult November 9th, november 10th insurance came back with approval, evaluations November 12th, presurgery consult November 15th(ish), surgery November 23rd. It all happened so fast. I'm so fortunate it worked out the way it did. I would never change a thing about it and so far have not have acid reflux one time. I was in so much pain all the time from it and this was the perfect solution. Not to mention I can lose weight too.
