Hi Harold! Big congratulations on your surgery date! I bet you are so excited! Just hang in there and try to be patient! Don’t worry if you are nervous, scared, excited or go through a thousand of different emotions. This is all normal, so go with the flow! Remember that we’re all family here and we’re here to give you our support, lend an ear and not judge. I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you today and that you are in my thoughts and prayers for a successful, problem-free surgery and recovery. I’m so happy for you. Hi Harold, Not to worry, as an RN that did special procedures for years (and am dating a GI guy who scopes patients ALL DAY LONG!!) Endoscopy is a very safe procedure. You should have no problems. Good Luck, Nurse Norcross www.WeightlossSurgery.ws

Hi, Don't worry about the egd. I have had a number of them. Never felt the pressure. Never had a puncture. I usually don't even feel anything nor remember very much. Good luck, Grins, Kaye

Well, tomorrow morning I go for an EGD. I know its a simple procedure, but I'm still freaked out. I'm one of those people who do lots of research on everything. Right now a couple things are sticking out in my mind about the EGD. 1. I'll feel pressure when the thingy gets to duodenum 2. The rarity of a puncture occuring and bleeding which forces them to open up. I know I should be thinking positive, but yet I'm anxious hehe I'm also set to see the Nutritionist tomorrow. After that I'll be getting a short-term disability certificate from my doctor. Man I dread telling my work this. Something about, "not being able to guarantee they'll hold my position for me when I return" being stated in my policies booklet.
