Dear Lynda.........you might check around for other surgeons cause there are more than a few who operate on people with a BMI of 70. Your doctor chooses not to because he/she may have had problems in the past or they fear operating on larger patients. It also keeps their death rates down the smaller you are. So they might be wanting the very best conditions for you when you have surgery. It practically impossible for us to lose weight and that's why we have this surgery so we can. It's overwhelming sometimes. Maybe you can find a good surgeon who will operate on you now. Very best of luck and take care! :)
