Janet, congratulations on having such a great doctor! Please keep in mind, however, that there are many successful WLS surgeons whose patients are very successful on a wide variety of post op diets. While my doc had me on clear liquids for 3 weeks following surgery, many of my friends went to a surgeon who pushed protein immediately after surgery. At 15 months post op I can tell you that they have been just as successful as I have (some more). So...don't be upset when you hear people following different plans! I'm sure that EVERY surgeon feels that HIS post op diet is the BEST! *laugh* People will be very protective of their doctor and their doctors eating plan! Best wishes to you on your journey! I used to live in Fed Way!

Hi everyone just wanted to say thank-you for the wonderful messages. My daughter Amanda has been my angel. She has given up her life these last two weeks to take care of me. She slept in bed with me so she could get my meds and get me up and down out of bed she helped me shower clean my incision and read to me ,prayed with me, and waited on me. She took care of everything even missed a week of work and she is only 17 years old I am so blessed! I am grateful for this time with her and all the talks, because she is leaving home for the first time next month. She will be going away to college 500 miles away. I shall miss her terribly! She is my special angel. I am recovering nicely spend the day sipping Amino 2222. 3tbls is 22g of protein mix it with sugerfree lemonade I use 4 or5 tbls per large glass, protein shakes give me awful diahrea. No troble getting my supplements down, I have all liquid ones. Thank you so much for your prayers.

Mom had her one week check up yesterday and she has lost 9 lbs. Yay! I'm so proud of my mom. She was doing great until last night. She was coughing really bad and tonight we discovered that the bottom of her insicion is bleeding a little bit. So we are assuming she'll have to go to the doctor's tomorrow. Please pray and believe with us that there is nothing wrong. I know she will be ok. But prayers never hurt. She is having a little trouble with drinking protien shakes but she is drinking aminos with no problem. So she is getting protien down. Part of the reason why today was so bad is that she just did too much. I try to tell her to slow down, but she doesn't always listen. I can understand why, I mean how many parents like to be bossed around by there 17 year old daughter. We appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers and concerns and just keep them going. God bless you all.-Amanda

Hello Janet, It was great to hear that things are going well post~op. What a loving, caring and sweet daughter you have. I got a chuckle out of her post "this place is hard to figure out!" May God bless you and keep you in His peace.

To everyone. I am Janet's 17 year old daughter Amanda. I have come to the conclusion that this place is difficult to figure out. I would do an update on my mom's file but I don't know how. Mom is doing great. Surgery went fine on Tuesday and I think she is recovering well. She came home today about noon and has been doing well. She never really got sick and she is keeping things down just fine (like meds). I thank you for your prayers and verses. I can wait till she can get on here and see all the wonderful caring things you all said. God bless and please continue to pray for her....I know you make all the difference in the world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
