I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all. (unknown author)FROM MY HEART TO YOU ~*~Hugs~*~

Jennifer, I am sorry to hear about your problems with hypoglycemia, I am 6 mo out and I too have had some spells with hypoglycemia mine started at 4 mo out. I have been to the Dr. and we agree that it is a side effect from the surgery as we no longer have our pyloric sphincter this is a muscle or valve that leads from the stomach to the intestine allowing food to empty in to the duodenum. With out that our food empties quickly from the stomach to the bowel ( of course we need this to aid in our weight loss success. My Dr. gave me a prescription for sugar pills, but these can also be purchased over the counter. I too was banded from exercise as my blood sugar would drop drastically if I did any...... What I did to get my blood sugars under control was add more carbohydrates back in to my diet as they stay with you longer just be sure to add the good carbohydrates veggies and fruits. I also eat something small mind you it can just be a carrot stick or something a few grapes every 2-3 hr. so far it has worked for me now for the last 2 mo. my blood sugars have been running normal while before they were dropping in to the critical stages 30-34 not good at all. I was diabetic prior to surgery. I will pray that things get better for you and that you can get your sugars stabilized. hugs and God Bless Maureen

Jennifer, Go get em girlfriend, As a person that is having WLS five days after you I asked myself what whould I want to hear this close to my surgery. I would want to hear that I am being prayed for and that my decision is the right one. I pray that your recovery will be fast and beyond your hopes. I ask that God watch over you and bring your through safely to the other side. Walk, cough and breathe deep as you being your new life. You are making the right choice to make a new life for yourself. God Bless you.

Dear Jennifer, Good Luck tomorrow...I've heard alot of good things about Dr. Shapiro. I'm from Brainerd and plan on having my surgery in Crosby. I'm approved for Abbott but they can't get me in til next winter so the 3 surgeons in Crosby have started doing lap RNY's and I'll probably be able to have surgery mid-April!! I'm just awaiting the pre-approval process again. I'm very excited and a bit nervous, too, like you. Being a nurse almost makes it harder, however, GOD IS IN CONTROL... He would never work all the details out if He didn't have a divinely wonderful plan for our lives! Remember that He'll be there holding your hand tomorrow and will be guiding the surgeon. You'll be in my prayers and we'll be anxiously awaiting word from you once you reach 'the other side'!! Good Luck
