Hey all, I'm back home. For anyone who thinks this is the easy way out, you got it all wrong. I came home yesterday from the hospital and no matter how I tried to sleep I couldn't get comfortable on the bed. I thought the hospital bed was uncomfortable, but at least it was adjustable so you could adjust it higher when you got out of bed. The pain med is yucky and you have to get up every four hours during the night to take it. Believe me you will have no choice to get up since your incision will feel as though it's about to burst open. This is my first major surgery and let me tell you, I thought I was prepared, but honestly this is alot harder than I thought it would be. My right leg is numb, I think it's because I pinched a nerve while trying to sleep last night, my left hand is hurting from where they took the IV out and it's not only the hand it's my wrist too. I pinched a nerve on my left shoulder, my back is killing me, and I'm constipated, which according to the pain med's side effects constipation plays a big role while taking the pain meds. I talked to one of the Dr's assistants today and she says to call the Dr. if the numbing doesn't go away. I could barely enjoy my first night home last night and decided that the bed was no place of comfort until the pain is gone permanently. I think the recliner will have to do since it's adjustable. I don't mean to complain, but I guess I never thought how much this would hurt. I'm so worn out and don't even want to eat anything, which I guess is a good thing, but I sitll have to keep up my liquids, since I don't want to have to go back to the hospital due to dehydration. I kept crying yesterday as my husband decided to go to a basketball game and I was at home feeling real sorry for myself wondering why I decided to have this surgery. I know it will be worth it all, but when will this unbearable pain go away without having to choke down this disgusting medicine. Sorry for this pity party I'm having, but I can't help it. Well that's enough writing for now, I have to go walk a couple of laps and take a nap. Please keep the prayers coming all, thanks and God bless,
