ANNIVERSARY DATE - 8/29/02!! And what a great year this has been! For the pre-ops - only be scared if you DON'T do this. For the post-ops - So good to see your faces on here! I try to catch up on this list at least every other week now.
I was denied by my insurance company too, so I went to Mexico and had this procedure done... I would do it all over again if I had the opportunity. Don't give up, and just remember "NO" is NOT an option here! I have lost all the weight I want to lose. I do not have saggy skin...yet! I eat pretty much anything (yes, even sweets at times.) Even yesterday, I had a cookie.. it was SO good, I had another (I know...I know.) Well, guess who had to go lay down? My excuse? Same old one - it was handy, I was hungry. I should have grabbed a cracker instead. I don't drink as much water as I should, but I am working on that.
I ran to a dress shop 2 weeks ago to buy a blouse really quick.. (I had spilled coffee on mine in my truck and ws on my way to a meeting.) On the way out of the store I spotted 2 dresses that I really liked. I ran up to the counter and paid for them worrying that they might not fit. Well, later that night I did have to take them back. Both were too big! I needed a size 8!! WOW! Can you believe that?
At work the other day a fella came in that I hadn't seen in a year. I recognized him, went over, sat down and started chatting when he asked me "So, where did Helen go, did you take her spot? I knew he was going to be embarrassed.. All I could say (jokingly) was "Oh, she has melted away, and left me here to do her job." He kept saying how embarrassed he felt, and I told him I just the nicest compliment I could ever get!
This list, this group of loving caring people gave me the courage and the strength to not give up. And I thank you all for that. I have my life back! And a whole bunch of new friends!!

First, I want to extend my deepest concerns and prayers for Liz Spell. Oh... out of all of our little Dallas group, I never in a million years thought Liz would be going through these complications. Todays report looks a bit better. Let's hope so! Second - I am home from Mexico with my LAP RNY by Dr. Rumbaut. Everything went great...but for those going down there..there is alot one needs to know before they go. I will update my page, but right now I have only been home on hour...kind of pooped, and want to talk to my husband that speaks English... That was the WORST PART for me. Thank you everyone that wished me well, prayed and sent e-mails. I'll answer everyone later on in the week.

I spoke with Helena's husband, Mike yesterday afternoon and he said she made it throught the surgery fine. Another one crosses safely to the other side. If all goes according to plan she should be back home on monday or tuesday. Please stop by her surgery page and show your support.
