Yep only two days left. That's it. Had a great talk with my dad yesterday about the surgery and what it entailed. I know he's so supportive, but I can tell he's actually really nervous too. He gave me a call today and told me that he and my mother are going to come to the hospital on Wednesday to visit me. The hospital is about 2 hours from their house. I'm so glad they're coming. I was thinking that they weren't going to come. I think I let it bother me at first a few months ago, but I had just come to let it rest (I know they have to work) and that's when they told me. I'm so happy now. Well here's my interesting bit for today. Below is a link to a recording of a laprascopin RNY procedure (exactly the same as I'll be having on Tuesday. It's an hour video and it does get a little boring (there's one doctor that does a lot of talking). However, the video is very cool. ENJOY!

Yep, I can't stay away. I'm wasting time until my husband gets home. We're driving his mother to JFK airport this morning at 3 am. I just made a pot of coffee. It'll keep me busy tonight so I'm not dwelling on the fact that there is only 4 days left. Almost 3! I talked to my brother today. I really miss him. We haven't spent any quality time together lately. He's graduating from college in Boston in the middle of August. He's going to make so much more money than I am, he's going to be an engineer. Smart kid. I'm hoping that he'll spend the weekend after my surgery here. Not that I'll be able to do much, but perhaps we can play a couple of games. I'm expecting him to drive my mother out here on Friday. My only concern is that if he drives her, she won't spend the night and he'll have to drive her home. I guess we'll have to see what happens. If my husband has to work next Saturday (he is tomorrow night) then I'll have no one here at the house to help me out. I could call my sister-in-law if I need. She's so helpful to, she's already offered to let the dogs out while I'm in the hospital. It's just not the same as having my family around. Don't get me wrong, I love my in-laws, they are amazing people, but just not the same. Well husband should be home soon. I'll keep you posted on my happenings.

Ok ok I couldn't stay away. I just wanted to write that I feel like I'm doing a great job with my pre-op diet. My head hunger has been no issue at all. I acutally am interested in starting the clear liquid diet. The only reason is because I've lost almost 20 pounds with my pre-op diet. I'm very happy with myself. My house is spotless right now (well it's clean anyway). I still have a few things left that I want to take care of before sugery. I want to wash and wax my kitchen and bathroom floors and wash the cars. Then EVERYTHING will be clean. It's also helping to keep me sane while waiting my impending surgery. Less than a week left! Time flies.. not!

Nothing much to update today. I had my pre-op appointment and the last of my testing yesterday. I met with Danielle the PA, I met Elaine last time. They're both wonderful. I love the staff at Fairfield County Bariatrics. Ok anyway appointment info. Everything is all set, I am going on August 1. Surgery is at 7:30 and they want me there by 6:30. Ok fine, I'll actually be there earlier than that. I'm getting so excited. I had to run over to the hospital to get my labs done, an ECG, and a chest X-Ray. All took less than an hour. Simple simple simple. That's all for now. I'll write again the day before I leave, unless I have some majorly important information before then!

Just a short update. I'm all sorts of antsy for my day to come. I start my 1000 calorie a day diet on Wednesday and the last two days before surgery is a liquid only diet. August 1 will come soon enough. It's a little weird, I don't want my summer vacation to end, but I'm certainly in a hurry for August to begin! One of my college friends is getting married on Sept. 9 in Brooklyn, NY. I'm so hoping that I'll loose enough weight in my first month that it'll be noticable! DH and I will be staying with my best friend and my maid of honor at her home on Long Island. That'll be a lot of fun. Plenty to look forward too. As long as I keep my A** in the gym and my hands out the fridge, I'll be ok.

One more thing. I just wanted to say THANK YOU to my Angel Kathy Currier. She has been so incredibly supportive and helpful. I wouldn't be as confident in my surgery if I didn't have such a wonderful role model. Also, thanks to everyone who has signed my support page and is showing that they care. I truely appreciate every message and prayer sent!

I felt like an idiot last night. I was waiting all day yesterday for a call from the surgeon's office to schedule my surgery date. I had left my cell phone upstairs all day. THEY CALLED ME! They called the cell phone, not the house phone. So I didn't get the message until 11:00 last night! So I called today and we finally got my surgery date. I have my pre-op appointment on July 21 (next Friday) and my surgery date on August 1. I can't wait!! Thank you to everyone for showing your support and answering every question I have ever asked!

Still waiting... Today I called the office, they have ALL the paperwork that they need. The new wait is for the office's surgical schedulers to call. I'm praying for tomorrow...

Just a sentence or two on what's new. I got the approval letter in the mail today from the insurance company. I called Dr. Floch's office. I'm waiting for Kelly to call me back today. I'm hoping they got a copy, otherwise, I'll run out and fax them my copy this afternoon. Let's get that date set! I'll let you know when I get a date...

Quick update... I know insurance has approved me, but they haven't gotten the paperwork to the surgeon's office yet. My surgeon requires the paperwork to be in the file before the even set a surgery date. I'm hoping that I'll get a date this week. I'm praying that the surgery date will be before I head back to work/school in August. I really want to be past stage 2 diet at least before I head back. I tend to have a full schedule and might find it tricky to fit a diet in that requires me to eat all the time. God is on my side. He'll set the date when he's ready. I just hope he's quick about it.

Yay! I called the insurance company today to get an update on the status of my claim. They said I was approved. At first, I didn't expect her response to be that, so I was sort of dumb founded for a minute. I asked her if I would get it in writing. She said ya, but you've been approved! Finally I snapped out of it and got excited and said thanks. So while I wait for Dr. Floch's office to call me back to schedule a surgery date, here is a timeline of my WLS journey. I always like to get an idea from other people about how long things took, so here's mine.
