I found out that Bariatric Surgery is listed as an exclusion on my insurance policy.  This means that even with a letter of medical necessity, the policy will still deny the surgery.  SO WHAT NOW!!!  I guess I will have to get a new insurance policy when open enrollment starts, but that's not until the Fall of 2008.  If ANYONE CAN HELP or HAS ANY IDEAS or HAVE BEEN IN THIS SITUATION, PLEASE HELP NOW!!!!!

As of today, I am officially insured.  Now, the journey begins.  Tomorrow I will schedule a visist with my PCP and have my annual physical.  I will also discuss the surgery with him and try to get him to refer me to a dietician.  Wish me LUCK!!!!

Ok. This will be a documentation of my journey from beginning to end.  My insurance policy becomes active tomorrow, but all I can think about is getting the surgery and starting my metamorphosis.  At this time I don't know if my insurance covers it or what procedure I need to follow to get it.  I will try to write something daily to keep everyone updated.  If you are reading this, please pray that things work out in my favor. :))
