My storry.....I guess I can start around my adolescence or so...My mom would always bring me to the doctors complaining I wasn't eating enough and questioning why I seemd so underweight (look at the irony in that). Anyway around 12 I was diagnosed with a serious knee condition which prevented me from being extremely active (of which I was very athletic at the time)... The rest is history, I fought obesity for almost half my life. Once I went to college (August 1998) I lost some weight, gained, lost, gained. However I did lose about 60 pounds with weight wacthers( 2004) and thought I finally won the battle of the bulge. But I packed on the sixty I lost along with another 40 just to be funny.
I didn't start thinking about weight loss surgery until around May 2007 after a trip to Vegas, and seeing how some of my loved one quality of life diminished due to obesity. I began to think that would be me in the years to come if I didn't do something. To make a long story short I researched wls and called my insurance to make sure it was covered before I even scheduled a doctors appointment. At the time I was covered under my husband's insurance and found out the insurance had an exclusion. I waited for the next year to enroll in insurance within my place of employment, because it did cover the surgery, and was approved within about a month and a half of my initial consultation. Febuary 22 is my big day and I am excited and nervous all at once. But I AM SO READY FOR THIS!!!!
