Have you ever gotten to a place in your life where you just could not explain how you ended up where you ended up? I could not believe my weight (still have problems saying it aloud) when I went to see Dr. Fox last October (2006). I literally could have died on the spot and could not believe I had let myself go to this point. Dr. Fox was so reassuring and told me not to focus on what had happened and also that I had so much to look forward to by getting the lap-band.
I listened to him and begin to work hard as my insurance, CIGNA, needed 6 months of medically supervised diet information in order to approve this procedure. I worked hard for 6 months to lose about 15 pounds and when everything was sent in, I was approved immediately and had the surgery on 6/20/2007. I am so glad that I did not give up (although I wanted to a few times).
Today, 7/25/2007, I am 40 pounds less than I was last month and truly on my 'weigh' down!!
