Hi, my name is Jeanette and I've been obese since...well as long as I can remember. I was an athletic kid (a tomboy), but always an obese, athletic kid. I started my sports career when I was 8 by playing softball, soccer, basketball and volleyball, but no matter how active I was, I was always the fatest kid on the team. I hated it. My self esteem was about as low as it could be. I only had a couple true friends, I mean those who would stand up for me when others called me names and could see beyond my physical appearance. I'm sure my story isn't all that different than a lot of other people, but even now, I feel alone.
