Today Is June 7th and I am almost 6 years 6 months out

Well, soon hits the 6 and a half year mark of my Roux en Y open gastric bypass and I am not sorry that I had it done. I am not 100% healthy, but I AM in a lot better health than I would have been had I NOT lost over 135 pounds. I have since moved from NY to Vermont and it was a smart move for me. I belong to a wonderful Church and my daughter gets better Mental Health treatment here for her Bipolar Disorder.Anyway, If you are on this site because you are contemplating gastric bypass surgery, PLEASE be informed before making the decision and do it for the right reasons and do it for YOU first off, NOT for everyone else. The most important thing is getting the proper information and this is one of the best sites out there for that. I came here and made my profile in May of 2004 and had my surgery December 5, 2004 and it was the first day of the rest of my life. I was told I would be in a wheelchair if I did not lose 100 pounds quickly. THAT was my first incentive in researching the gastric bypass. When I did my search online, this is the first site that came up and I found a wealth of information on here. A lot has changed on the site and I lost track of it for the past four years. I had to e-mail customer service to find my profile and login information. That took two days because I could not remember what e-mail address I used OR the address I lived at the time, but customer service was great and they kept on until they found me.
Anyway, I just wanted to update and put something new on here and say that I am doing well with my weight. I have not gained and have been stable at around 95 to 99 pounds for the past 4 years. I have not gone above the 100 mark although I have tried and I can now eat just about anything. I will update some stuff on here every now and then as I come on here to do some research and things.
