Talk about things not working in your favor!  Today when I woke up I was determined to find out what I could do to get my surgery! After talking to my Mother I decided that maybe I could get on some type of individual plan for like $100 a month and then from there even if they didn't pay for the WLS I could get some help with the pre tests and what not. No... When I was talking to the man about insurance companies he asked "so you are how tall, how much do you weigh"... "oh... no insurance company is gonna approve a plan for you, you'll have to call the high risk insurance because being obese is a pre existing condition"
So.... I called and the plans start at $300 a month and even then they don't cover WLS unless deemed medically necessary after the paperwork and going through a big process..... I just can't win!

Soooo this has me thinking, what happens if I do end up finding a way to pay for my surgery out of pocket, will I be able to get insurance then- after I am the proper BMI for my height? Or they gonna try to give me crap because Iv had the Band, I mean some day I would like to have children and Im going to need medical.
