A new face!

Jul 26, 2011

Boy, i really need to upload a new picture!  the picture of me to the left is me at my heaviest - and doesn't even have the double chin that i had developed about 2 years ago.

It's funny i noticed about a month ago that my face had changed. And every day i look in the mirror and remember --"wow, this is your old face" and i had missed it!

And so, the circle is completing, because i remember about 10 years ago when one morning, i looked back at my reflection in the mirror and wondered who the heck was this fat moon face looking back at me -- and when did that happen?

The good news is i am now down to a size 14.... REGULAR!

Not W - but regular.

and during the heatwave, wore a size 14 red 2-piece and it looked great!

Apparently, under my humongous apple shape there is a curvy, flat-bellied, hour-glass shaped body! LOL

Working toward, the size 8 or 6!

How I broke my stall !!

Jun 06, 2011

Hi,

So as you know I was at a complete stall at 35lbs lost -- for like 2 weeks

So I decided that i needed to re-read the paperwork from the surgeon's office's nutritionist regarding what and what not i should be doing at the Phase IV/ solid foods stage.  And start writing a log -- because something was wrong.

So that i did and based on this i put together a Menu -- to really track volume, cals, fat, carbs, and protien.  As well as to make a guide for myself.

and in 1 week i've broke the stall - and am down to a total of 40lbs -

I created my Menu and LOG  in Excel  -- there are 2 weekly menus and 2 different diaries (one to print as a small booklet - and 1 that prints 8 1/2 x 11).  And am attaching it here in case you want to use it.  Please note that next to each day on the menu there are hidden columns -- where you enter the nutritional values -- so the file can be used as a customizable template -- put in your OWN menus with nutritional values.  I hope this might be a useful tool!

(uh oh trying to figure out how to upload the excel file - do you know how i can do this??  - anyway i've made a JPEG for you to have a look see)

Thanks! :)

6-weeks post op

May 31, 2011

Have apparently hit some sort of 5/6 week stall!

Have started exercise: Zumba on Thurs, gardening on weekend, and peresonal trainer yesterday  - no idfference except i'm sore all over! LOL

Clothes are falling off - had to roll up my pants waist on Monday -- so that's a good thing!

But i really want to lose another 20 lbs by the fourth of July!  Dag!

So what should i do?   -- I've been eating cottage cheese for breakfast, tuna or chicken salad for lunch, and then 2oz turkey and 1 oz mashed potato, and 1 oz veggie for dinner   I try to have 1 additional protien shake during the day -- just to make sure i get 70 protiens.  I had not been gettin in enough wat4er - but this weekend i got in 8 glasses every day - and still nothing.  I am going to start a food diary today.

What worked for you?

5-weeks post-op

May 25, 2011

Well i was quite disappointed this past Saturday to see i had only lost 2 lbs that week (32 total).  And then i went to a wedding on Sunday that offered too much food too often.  I stayed in the 3 oz zone but every 1-2 hours! Yuk :(

So i got back on the bandwagon the past 3 days - get in that water, 3 oz per meal (not 4), jog in-place for 15 minutes every morning (until i can get an exercise routine) -- and am now 35lbs down (total).  YEAH!

Also found a good liquid calcium citrate at Costco.

My doctor also signed my exercise clearance form today -- so i can join post surgical fitness program at my hospital.  Going to start there on Tues.  But am going to Zumba class tomorrow.

Am hoping things start looking up (or should i say down - LOL)

3-weeks post op

May 06, 2011

Hi,

I am 3-weeks post op (as of yesterday) and am down 25lbs!!  I was not expecting to do so well (not that i am complaining).  Next week i move to Phase 3 foods (fish, chili).

I WAS very hyped and then i joined OH and now i see others have lost as much as 40 lbs at the 3 week mark!

Think it is time to up the ante here! (LOL)

I have got to start the exercise (have done any at all [boo!])

So i've set a goal of starting with Tai Chi tomorrow morning and continuing that next week -- and then moving forward by returning to the gym they week after.

I really do need to optimize these first 3 months -- where the weight loss is more rapid.

Thanks for listening!
