Back in 2001, I joined this site to learn about the bariatric surgery and get some support from people who has gone through the process. And I'm glad that this site is still available.
I did everything that the insurance company said to do and still was denied. Seven years has passed and I'm still struggling with my weight. Now, I weigh even more. Over 400lbs more.
During open (health care) enrollment at my job, I asked (again) will the gastric bypass be covered and they told me no. Knowing what I need to do to help myself, I purchased my own health care. I will not be cheap but I had to do it if I wanted the surgery.
I found a doctor that was highly recommended, contacted his office and waiting for my consultation package.
I'm really hoping that 2009 will be my weight loss surgery year!
