So...Almost a year since I last Blogged.  Craziness, I know.  I have the Pens in the playoffs and the Pirates looking like they will break my heart another year.  Going to be moving into a new home, so that will be keeping me busy.  And just trying to get back into my spring sports (Golf, Softball, etc.)  I just wish it would quit raining on my softball days.

As far as weight loss, I'm more of the tortoise than the hare, but I digress.  I think with the band, it help you slow down, but you have to buy into the work you do.  Although I just have had my 8th or so fill, and I am really starting to feel the difference.

Ok, quit reading and get back to work! 

In addition to my new look, I will be getting a new job. 

June 4th @ 1 pm I will have my surgery and I am ready to go.

So...................
Apparently having a BMI of 47, sleep apnia, and hypertension isn't enough to have surgery.  UHC got my med history and since my BMI was at like 39 for one year, I am denied...for now.  Dr. Tom's office is none too happy right now, and we both think that UHC is trying to snake their way out of paying for my surgery since my wife was banded on Feb. 25th.  They sent in the appeal info and now have postponed my surgery.  Both the office staff and I are utterly dumbfounded by this, because none of this was needed for my wife and she was approved and banded all within 2 months.  They had originally tried to say that I was not covered for the procedure (morons) then it was changed that I needed a BMI of over 40 for 5 years.  Also they wanted a 6th year of information. 

I do want to say I am very grateful for Dr. Tom's staff and all of the help and support they are giving me.  They truely do go above and beyond. 

I finally got my date, April 14th.  And I'm ready.  I got so much going on in my life, its crazy.  This has really been the only thing holding me up.  Unfortunately, no golf for like 6-8 week, but I got Tiger Woods 2008 to keep my busy.

So we had video night monday, and now I am more than ready for surgery.  It was amazing seeing how quickly the band was placed on.  Also we saw a by-pass and Dr. Tom's attention to detail is second to none.  It really made me feel good about what I am about to go through.

My wife and I ran into a little difficulty this past week and I had to cancel our appointments w/ Dr. Sonnanstine.  Just a small set back.  But we need to focus on our current situation before doing anything else.

Well, my grandmother sent me a pictue of me when I was a senior in HS.  Definately my new motivator.  My wife couldn't beleive it because she has only seen head shot of me from back then and nothing full body like this.  When I get a chance, I'm going to scan and post it for a comparison.
