Updated to New Hope

Sep 23, 2009

I am starting a new phase of my weight loss journey.  Tomorrow I go to see Dr. Tran at the Blue Point Surgical Group for my first Pre-op visit.  It has taken 7 months to get to this point after my initial consultation.  Everything has changed in the last 8 yrs.  There are so many new hoops to jump through for insurance approval, but having already lost and maintained 100 pds, I know that it is worth it in the end.

During the last 8 yrs, I have gone through many changes in my life.  One of them is getting older and hormone changes.  After having my uterus carterized, my doctor put me on straight provera.  After almost a year, I had gain back up to 306.  Now, I know what you are all thinking.  I blew it.  Well let me tell you the facts.  In April I got the doctors to change my birth control pills and I was taken off of cholestoral medication (I have also developed diabetes).  From April to August with no real changes in diet or activity, I'm back at my maintance weight of 258.  So except for the 1 yr of weight gain and loss, my weight has remained in the 258 area.  I do not feel I have stretched my pouch much.

Now for the new stuff.  I am going to the doctor to have a RNY Revision done to help me to lose more weight.  I have maintain at what my first doctor said was where the previous surgery was supposed to be.  Up until the weight gain, I was healthy and happy.  The extra 40 pounds has triggered my aging body to add co-morbites to my daily life.  I have a 9 yr old daughter who I desperately want to live to see grow up.  With the revision, I am going to work even harder to bring my weight loss journey to the best ending possible.    I am setting many goals and I plan to meet everyone of them.  I'll update more tomorrow after I have my visit.  Wish me luck.
