I am doing great! I had some pain from the gas they use to see where they are going and some short qwick pains from my incisions. The procedure itself was as uneventful as brushing my teeth! Anyone thinking of VGS must go to Dr. Alvarez. I have lost ten pounds! At first my mind wanted to go to chick-fila. After isolating myself alone in the hotel, for three days the head hunger has gone away. 
You see, I knew before WLS that being alone was going to be the hardest part of this journey. I can honestly say 90% percent of the reason why I am obese is because I eat when I am alone. Yes, I gained all my wieght after 9:00pm! I wanted to start dealing with how I comfort myself with food right away. I know this will be an ongoing struggle. At the moment, the most difficult part has been not being able to gulp water like I used to. My new stomach has an automatic shut-off valve!

We are in Eagle Pass. This is a wonderful city. It is very safe and filled with great shopping!

Today was full of ups and downs. I planned my trip well in advance. The hard part was finding help for my three children who are three and under. I thought I had it all taken care of but twice today babysitters canceled. I can not rely on my husband and there are no other family members available. At times I thought, I can't go, this is just too complicated. Yet, I persevered and have it taken care of with back-ups! What kept me going instead of giving-up was the thought of my health getting worse and not living long enough to see my beautiful girls grow-up. My mom and dad have passed away because they did not take care of themselves. WLS of course is not the fix-it all but I know it is a tool that will help turn my health around. So anyone reading this and encounters last minute obstacles I say REMEMBER THE BIGGER PICTURE. BE UNDETERRED AND FIND A WAY!
