"I have only seen Dr. Cook in a group meeting for diet and Q&A time for those hoping to have the surgery. What I saw of him and his Partner,Dr. Cox, was very good. He has a calm demeanor and is able to ansewr all questions thrown his way. He made me feel like I have made the right choice.
I have provided the office staff with all of the information from my PCP, my GYN and the oncologist I had to see about 5 years ago. I have undergone the psychology visit and am now waiting to hear results.
The staff has been very helpful and very caring about me as they are with all patients.I have called a couple of times to see about my red tape progress and they are always very helpful.
Drs. Cook and Cox both stress the things that need to be done after the surgery and even urged all of us to begin some form of exercise and to begin taking the vitamins we will need post-op.
The risks of post-op complications were discussed at length and we were all told of the great importance of doing follow ups. We also talked a lot about the changes that were going to come to our lives, not just the weight loss but the dietary and exercise changes. I think I have made a very wise selection in surgeons. He has a no nonsense attitude but at the same time, is very caring about the patient's struggles throught our lives with the weight and complications of the weight.
Thus far, I have seen no negatives but I am sure there might be a couple. As I said, I have only seen him 1 time in a group meeting and never on a one on one basis.
I met one on one today,Dec.,12 2003 and liked Dr. Cook's manner. He is a very softspoken and serious man. I left his office with great confidnce in him. After he examined me and talked to me about the things I need to do to prepare myself, I spoke with Lisa,who does the scheduling. She told me that I should hear from her in about 2 weeks and we would set the date at that time for my surgery...I'm on my way!!!!!
Ok, surgery is over and I'm doing well. I prayed a prayer of thanks to my God because he had sent me to a gifted surgeon. Dr. Cook seems to me to be a very caring individual. He is kind and I would recommend him to anyone who asks my opinion."
