What a wonderful life!

Sep 17, 2008

Well I am 8 weeks out of surgery. Wow, where has the time gone! I feel so great right now. I have energy to spare, I can sleep through the night WITHOUT my CPAP, and no kidney pain! The weight is just falling off. I am down a total of 62 pounds (77 counting before pre-op). Best of all people are noticing, and I went clothes shopping! I love it! I used to avoid the mall and public places like the plague, but now I don't. I am so glad I had this surgery, and I don't have one regret! Eating is going well, I still have a hard time everynow and then with breads, and dry meats. But all and all My life is so much better. I can't wait to lose more and see what I can do.

Stones Stones Stones!

Sep 17, 2008

Wow, I haven't posted in a while! Well my life is going so fast right now. I started back to work 3 weeks ago. At first it was hard getting back to normal speed. I had some setbacks though. I found out after 4 ER visits that I had a Kidney Stone. For a while there I was begining to think I was going to be on Hydrocodone forEVER! I woke up one night with horrible back pain. It was about the size of a fist in my middle side. I took some pain meds thinking it would just go away, but it broke through the hydrocodone after an hour. So I went to the ER where I was told I had an Urinary Tract Infection. I was sent home with MORE pain meds and Anti-biotics. Well that next day, It happened again. This pain was oughful, and I couldn't not urinate! Back to the ER where I was there all day! After 2 CT scans, X-rays, and a Sono, I was told I had a Kidney stone that was blocking my left kidney. Come to find out, the dye used the first trip to the ER was still in the kidney, it still hadn't drained. Again I was sent home with pain meds and referred to a uriologist the next day. She examined me and said that it looked as if I had passed the stone, but wanted me to call if I had anymore pain or go straight to the ER. She also ordered another CT scan on Oct 5th to make sure everything was alright.
