Size med in North Face jacket feels good!!!

Sep 27, 2011

I did it!! I finally fit nicely into a size med NF  jacket. I just felt like today I should try so I went back in the s tore and tried it on again.

It fit!!! The beautiful black jacket with synched tailoring on the sides. Anyone who knows NF, knows they run small.

OMgosh.... My body has stalled so much these last few weeks and I wasn't sure if I would be able to do it. I lost only 5 lbs  this month, I think or  something like that. But I did it, none the less.

Currently.....I am 17 lbs from goal.  My starting weight was 207 lbs and my weight today is 147 lbs.

Seems like I drop weight right after my menstral cycle, just something I have noticed, Any other VSG'ers in the later stages notice this as well??? Tops are still a size med, sometimes I wear a small, but mostly med. pants are a solid 9. Will maybe get into a 7-8 when I hit goal. Right now I am just over joyed. I am 5 months post op. I am in excellent health, blood pressure is wayyy down and in normal zone, no asthma meds needed and my frequent urination at night is gone. I sleep really well. The only thing I do experience is I get chilly a  lot still. Still got ALL my hair, taking my vitamins and eatinng right. Life is good.

And guess what....I can bend over and tie my own shoes!!!!

Thank You Dr. Kelly. I love you!!!

No size med for North Face jacket

Aug 30, 2011

Okay so I was in Sports Authority yesterday and tried on the "Jacket", I wanted so badly last year. I am now officially a size medium in tops and they fit very nice and comfortably. I am in a size 10 pants. I only have 21 pounds to go, not sure that is enough to get  me into a size med for the North Face jacket. Last year I barely fit into an XL  and it was still wayy tight....and now I tried on the med and it was too snug for comfort, so I am in a large. I will not buy one of them coats till I can fit into a med. It has been one of my personal goals. I really was surprised it was too tight, but I have 21 lbs to go and i am motivated soo much more so lets see if the remainder of my weight to goal will be enough to get me into this jacket, comfortably. I am not looking just to be able to get it on, I want to buy one and it has to fit, I don't want any struggle at all, if thats the case, I am still misleading myself and I am trying really hard not to do that. Overall I am still very very proud  of myself, I do realize that these jackets are very tailored and run smallish, in size, but I have always wanted one and they look so nice on. I hope I can do it. I'm sure I will. Just takes time. : )  To all my weightloss friends out there, I want to say thanks for all the words of encouoragement, as you have been there for me. I have found the blogging, updates and tracker to be useful tools and my personal source of empowerment. This web site is truly a gift. As are the members. Thank you....all of you.

23 lbs to go!!! Stall lifted

Aug 21, 2011

Hi guys!! Just checking in. Was out of state with my daughter in Mo. getting her set up for college. Was a nice quick trip. Lots of heat, sunshine and I really enjoyed my self. I ate sensibly and made sure to hydrate. I lost 4 lbs, in 4 days down there. Awesome!!!  Such a good feeling. I knew it too, wasn't sure it would be 4 lbs, but I felt lighter during my trip. I am sooo happy with my results so far. I am only 23 lbs from my weight goal. I set my goal for 130 lbs, and if I happen to fall below that weight, then so be it, but so far so good and I am so happy I chose to have my surgery. Wish I would of done it sooner. I am posting some picts from my trip to Mo. so these are VERY recent. Hope everyone out there is in good spirits and doing well. May we all reach our goals and begin our new lives!!! Happy & Healthy!!

Till next time,

Still in stall mode. Geezzzzz

Aug 15, 2011

It's been a few weeks and the weight loss is stalled again. I am not bummed though b/c I am more than 50 lbs down and I am only 26 lbs from goal, so I am not too majorly bummed, although I would love to reach goal b/f next century!! lol

On the plus side....I am in a size 10 pants and a med size top. Hoping to be in a size 6 pants and med/small top by xmas. If I stay in a med for tops I am good with that. I noticed I don't have many bowel movements and when I do, that  is when I tend to loose the wieght, or maybe right after my mentral cycle. Still trying to figure out these stalls. Doctor said it's okay for me not to be alarmed,  it happens and it takes the body time to come to terms that it needs to let go of the weight. I had less than 100 lbs to loose in the beginning, so maybe that has something to do with it. Hope everyone out there is doing well. Keep up the good work. Best wishes!!!

looks like another stall

Aug 06, 2011

Ok so the body is being stingy with these 27 lbs and I don't like it, but have lost enough weight that I feel good anyway, and the extra 27 lbs is just a bonus. I figure it will come in time, so long as i get to my goal by xmas. I just started back to work so hopefully that also keeps me active enough to jump start the weight loss again. Still at 157.

27 lbs to go

Jul 28, 2011

Been waking up and weighing myself and looks like I am on the move again. I have 2 pairs of pants that fit, were from way long ago, but are baggy but am making it work for now, later will buy more, maybe hit thrift store, not wanting to spend too much as I am dropping weight & whats the point. I did buy some shirts, HAD to and bra's. HAD to. I got a new job, even though I am retired from the state, I decided to go back to work & try something totally new. For those of you who already knew, I was a social worker, in Child protection. I am now in Flight Attendant School, conditional job offer, need to pass the training course. Today was the first day, pretty cool.  Gosh..... hardly anyone I sent emails to has updated!! : (

Current weight 157, down from 207, total weight loss so far is...50 lbs 3 months Post Op!! YAY!!!

38 lbs to go

Jun 27, 2011

Well I haven't blogged in awhile and wanted to check in. I am doing sooo much better. I feel great and think I look pretty good so far. I went to a family reunion in Ca. and realized how many members of my family were obese. Man oh man... I wish I could of shared my surgery info with them, but I didn't want to. Personal reasons. A lot of people complimented me on my appearance and some who had not seen me in so long, would not have known any different. Either way, it was a personal choice not to divulge any information. No wait!! I did tell my mom, who was there and I hadn't seen in several years. She was happy for me. But so far that is All who knows as far as relatives go. I'll just say, the reason I chose not to share my journey is because there have been members in my family who have had WLS before and landed up gaining it all back. I knew there would be more cross comparisons and ridicule and trust me I need to be around support and understanding. So that is why....

I had no problem eating on vacation and focused on getting my proteins in and enjoyed some salad when I was able to. I am exercising more and all the walking in ca. I did allowed me to drop some more weight. I am now 38 lbs to my goal and 2 months post op. I am hopeful to make it by Xmas so I can ask SANTA for a Black North Face jacket, in size medium.

In the coming weeks I will be busy outside finishing up our landscaping and that is a lot of work, so I hope to loose more weight there. I am now in the process of trying to get reimbursed from my insurance company, for the surgery. I have a wonderful letter from my Dr. so I hope it flies. I have the case notes from primary care Dr. that I no longer am seeing, as well, although her notes might not do me any good, hence why I dropped her, she was against my surgery from the get go. She said only those weighing 450lbs or more should even contemplate the idea. She is a lone ranger b/c I know a lot of people, including Dr.'s who will disagree. SO wish me luck that I get my reimbursement, that would give me five thousand dollars back in my pocket and I would use it for my daughters college expenses.

I will update some new picts and a before and after. Remember it is only the 2 month mark for me, so I still need some work. But I am enjoying the ride so far. I love my new life and am almost able to tie my shoes with out difficulty.

My birthday is July 4th. Going camping with my husband, daughter and my dog!!

From the losers bench...

Plateau has ended

Jun 04, 2011

Sitting here blogging... drinking a nice cold glass of water. ALL is good, plateau has lifted. I feel great, except I tend to feel a dull pain in my back after eating, it's just under my shoulder blade. Not sure what that is about, it isn't too terrible, but sometimes I can REALLY feel it.  If anyone knows what this is, plz share your story. I was wondering if it may be indigestion. I don't know.

I am shrinking and my clothes are soo big, and comfy, haven't bought anything new but I did buy some used shorts on ebay for my trip to Ca. in June.  I will post a new pict soon. Been busy outdoors working in my garden. staying active and busy. Energy level is still not as high as I would like, but I am not eating as much as I used to back in the day & I think it is a shock on my body.

I am on my vitamins, not the Flintstone Gummies anymore. I am now taking New Chapter Organics, Every Woman's Once Daily  Multi-vit + Herbs and Minerals, says it targets; stress, immune and bone health.  The only thing is I tend to forget to take them, so now put them in the bathroom next to the sink so I remember.

I know!!!! I know....Vitamins are important!!!! So I will try to do better, for my health.

I am doing great on my fluids though. It's just going to take time I think. It's a big deal. I am soo greatful to Dr. Kelly & all his staff and my wonderful coordinator, Sandy at Alighterme.com!!!

Ok till later!!

Plateau

May 23, 2011

Hello!!

Well lately....I am going through some sort of plateau, my weight loss has been steady at 19 lbs (for like 10 days) talked to the Doc he said it is normal. I am barely on solids now, and am eating as I should & drinking as I should. I now have a treadmill as well as my bike. Today I am making tamales, for the family. Also keeping busy outside working in my flower garden, getting ready to transplant my new flowers. My incisions are all healed and I am not on any medications. My blood pressure is not high and I am generally feeling well. I am a lil bummed that my weight loss is at a plateau, but I understand it happens. I'm keeping a positive outlook and looking forward to the day when I start seeing the numbers drop on the scale again. Currently I am not weighing myself all the time, maybe once a week. My clothes are fitting better and there are some items I choose to wear all the time, b/c they are sooo big and comfy, it might be difficult to go & buy new clothes that is actually my new size, b/c I am happy in my old baggy stuff. lol

Ok until later..... Have a great week every one!!
