2 months post op - Feeling Good

Sep 08, 2009

It has been 2 months since I went under the knife  an I must say I feel great.  My clothes are falling off of me.  I have taken so many of my old clothes to the goodwill that my closet is starting to look very bare.  I am not complaining about that.  That is a very good thing.  I've been back to work for 2 weeks and things are still going well.  It is a little hard to make sure I eat and drink enough through the day because I an so busy, but I manage.  My co-workers just keep complementing me on how good I look.  It feels good to walk with more confidence.  I am really happy with my decision to have this surgery and make this life style change.

One Month Post-op

Aug 15, 2009

After one month after surgery I feel great.  I have lost 27 lbs since my surgery.  I haven't had any complication and the doctor says I am doing great.  I am averaging about 2 to 2.5 lbs each week which the doctor informed me is very good.  I am just going to keep doing what I am doing so I can stay on track.

Two Weeks Post OpOp

Jul 24, 2009

It has been two weeks since my surgery and I must say I feel great.  I had my first follow up appointment with Dr.V and he said everything look good as far as my wounds and he told me to move on the to the next stage (pureed foods).  I can't believe I am looking forward to eating oatmeal and grits.  Its the little things that make me happy.  The only problem I am having right now is smelling strange foods.  When I smell some foods it make me a little sick to my stomach.  Some times I feel like a pregnant woman with the smell factor.  Dr. V said this will most likely go away after a while.  So far I have no regrets about having this surgery.  I know I had to do it for my health and I an going to do everything to make sure I am successful.

One Week Post Op

Jul 15, 2009

I am one week post op and I feel really good.  I am off of the pain medication and I am walking more and more each day.  My wounds a healing very well.  I have not had any nausea so far and the gas pain has been minimal.  I do feel a little stiffness in the abdominal area at times, but it is bearable.  When I came home from the hospital I had gained weight and was concerned, but the doctor told me that was normal so I was okay after I talked to him.  Since coming home from the hospital I have lost 15 or 16 lbs.  I can't believe that.  I am following the Dr's directions, but I am so tired of eating jello and chicken broth, but I know I have to let my stomach heal.  Things are looking good so far.
