Long time OH.....

Feb 24, 2010

Okay, so I haven't wrote in a very long time, so let me give some updates. Well, even though we changed our insurance from mine (BCBSFL) to my hubby's (UnitedHealthcare), WLS is totally excluded. So I decided to try out this diet this local wellness center offers called the HCG diet. I had never heard of it prior to my consultation with the clinic, so I did some research. Low and behold, its pretty popular. And i've heard great results. So I thought to myself, what the heck, I've tried every other diet out there, mind as well give it another shot.

So I've been on it for 3 weeks now. Have to give myself injections every day (unless on my monthly cycle) and keep to a strict 500 calorie diet. Yeah, I know what you're thinking...500 CALORIES!! That's like no food at all right, lol!! Well, with the vitamins and prescribed Phentermine they gave me, I'm not hungry, not tired and my anxiety has been fine. On this diet, you're supposed to lose 1/2 pound to 1 pound A DAY!! So imagine my astonishment when I went in for my 1st week checkup that I had lost 10 lbs!!!!! Saaay Whaaaat! I walk 30 minutes a day, have been before the diet, so I felt really good about myself. The second week I lost another 6 pounds, ya girl is on a roll. Well, last week, my 3rd week into the program, I didn't lose not 1 pound, nor gain any and that is because that pesky friend of us ladies decided to visit. So I didn't adhere to the diet properly and wasn't able to take my injections. "No biggie" says the nurse because I was starting off on the right track. I go for my next checkup on this coming Tuesday, started back on my shots today and I'm ready to continue this long, but very rewarding journey.

To all those "in the struggle", stay motivated, stay positive and stay determined!!!

Many blessings,

NiNi
