Update!!!

Sep 15, 2009

Well things are going good!! I will say it has been a "wild" ride!!! I am pretty much healed, except for one insicion that is just being a pain!!! I have had a few problems, such as my bi-pap machine being too high!!! YEA!!!!!!! I have allready went from a 18/16 pressure down to 14/10!!! Going in for a sleep study soon becasue they think they will be able to get rid of the oxygen now too!!!! I am also off a few medications and my anti-depressant is down from 60mgs to 20mgs!!! I am very frustrated with not being able to drink soda. I get so tired of water!!! The only thing I can really drink other than water is coffee, tea, and light lemonade. I think now that am out about 50 days from surgery I can honestly say that the psychological aspect of this surgery was the hardest! You will be amazed at how much you actually use food for comfort!!!  Over all, I would have to say that this was the best thing to ever happen to me!!! I can't believe the energy I have, the higher self-essteem, and just an overall feeling of healthiness and happiness!! To anyone out there considering the surgery....JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! You will not be dissappointed!!!

2 Weeks Post-Op

Aug 11, 2009

Hi all! , Ok, well it has been 2 weeks since my surgery and am just now about to move around like I used too. I do tire easily but still doing good! I have lost 19 pounds since surgery and I lost 8 pounds before surgery for a total of 27!!! I think that I should be loosing a little faster than I am but, I haven't started exercising yet either. So, let's pray it starts coming off faster!  The first two weeks I think have been the hardest. I craved food soooo bad!!! But, I also learned that was because I started smoking again, which makes you hungrier and I wasn't able to drink hardly any of the protien drinks. When your body doesn't have enough protien, you get hungry. Another plus, is I originally thought I was going to have to be on the all liquid diet for 3-4 weeks. After my 2 week post-op appointment, I found out that that wasn't true!! I am now HAPPY to say I am on purred' or soft foods now!!!  Also, I have been experiencing a lot of mood swings! However, these are starting to go away! :-) The only other problems I have had is with constipation and dry mouth. Those are remedied easily tho.

The Begining!!!

Jul 16, 2009

Ok, I am now on day two of my "all liquid diet". The first day I thought NO WAY!!! I CAN'T DO THIS, I'M STARVING!!! Now, on day two, I have actually only had a coffee, a cup of broth and some applesauce!!! Not to bad today, and I actually FEEL LIGHTER!!! Weird! Getting anxious for my surgery, but kinda thinking of all the "possible" negatives, so I am working at trying to think more positively. The one really hard thing is... since I am not eating I want to smoke!!! Boy, this is really really HARD!!! It seems like I can't do ANYTHING!!! Oh well for the most part it is going better than expected!!!
