I went roller skating today

May 16, 2009

I went roller skating today with my 5 year old, Emily.  We had a blast, this is the first time in like four years.  It felt great.  It was excellent excercise.  I loved feeling like I had so much energy today.  Each day I gain more energy.  I still get tired easily though.  I think this will pass soon.  I'm getting alittle more use to my new stomach also.  I know how to read soon enough to stop eating something before it makes me sick.  I have got a little daring also with food choices.  I'm only suppose to be on pureed/ blenederized foods but I have tried a few things that will be in phase III.  I had 3 teaspoons of white rice tonight and about 1/2 cup of eggdrop soup.  I also had 2 small pieces of shrimp.  I chewed them slowly and carefully and took real small bites.  I ate a bite of a piece of cooked green pepper.  I did well I think,  I got my chinese food fix for the month.  I know there's alot of calories in chinese food but I ate barely anything compared to the way I use to eat.  It feels good to be able to control how much I eat now, before surgery I didn't care and just piled food onto my plate.  I still think I ate healthy tonight because it wasn't even a cup of food total.  All I had today was two of my chocolate protein shakes and this little fix of chinese food.  I hope I'm not overeating.  I'm curious on how much I really should be eating 3 weeks post-op.  I've been lucky so far that I haven't got sick at all on anything.  Also,  so far I can keep everything down, I also haven't had any dumping syndrome.  I did get frustrated this week because I've been the same weight four days now.  I'm use to seeing a pound drop almost daily, but since I got off of liquids my weight is staying the exact same all week.  I did lose 40 lbs so far but I want more to come off.  I guess it will come in time.  If anyone out there on OH will let me know if it sounds like I'm eating way too much for 3 weeks out, please let me know.  I'm wondering if that's why the scale hasn't moved in four days.  I can eat anywhere between 1/2 cup to 1 cup of food for 3 meals a day.  Is this too much.  The last couple days I've only been eating dinner but drinking my protein shake for my breakfast and lunch.  Is this ok to do?  Thanks- Crystal
