I am finally sleeved. For me this has been a crazy journey. I was scheduled to have my surgery on Sept. 3, 2008 but due to Hurricane Gustav and the flooding he caused had to cancel my surgery. Then I started second guessing my decision. So I talked to more people, was on this site everyday, and went to see my PCP  (who is very supportive of me having this surgery). Then I made my appointment with Dr. Bellanger again and scheduled my surgery for 2 weeks later.  I was lucky I guess because he doesn't require any pre-op diet. Just the clear liquids the day before.
Anyway my surgery was March 10, 2009 at 8:30 am. Surgery went well not complications. I remember waking up in pain and them giving me meds. Then I remember getting sick. I got sick so many times Tuesday. The pain meds seemed to make me sick even though they gave me anit-nausea to go with it. I made it through all of that and made sure to walk between it also. Other than the nausea the first day I've been good. Everyday gets better and better. I'm not having any trouble getting my protein in and believe I am keeping up with my water. Adding the jello and popcicles is hard for me (maybe cause I've never cared for them) Chicken broth is good it gives me just enough food flavor to keep me satisfied. I'm not hungry either.
This has got to be the best thing I have done for me. I look forward to the days to come.
