Two days ago I began the start of a new path in life. With my VSG on December 10th, I have made a stand that I won't let the excess weight rule my life anymore. It wasn't an easy decision for me, so I spent 6 months finding out all I could. The thing that really pushed me over the hump was my diabetes, and the big cure rate of it with VSG. My doc said it was 90%, and those were good odds to me.My daughter is the one who really put it into perspective. She talked about how I have been fighting diabetes & weight issues for years. She said that I needed to look at it as if it were someone attacking me, & that I needed to "kick it where it hurts." Now those weren't exactly the words I wanted to hear coming out of my sweet daughter's mouth. However, it did shake me up a bit, & I realized that that was what I needed to do. Now I feel like I've done the best thing ever for my physical health & my blood sugar has been dropping daily! Woo hoo!!!
