I had Realize Lap Band surgery on January 26, 2009 at St. Vincent's Hospital East in Birmingham, AL.  Dr. Lee Schmitt did my surgery.  I have had absolutely no problems at all with the surgery and I'm loving my band!  When I started the journey to get a band I weighed 266 and had hypertension.  Today I weigh 212 (I'm 5' 7" tall) and I'm no long on medication for hypertension!  54 pounds!  I've had 3 fills so far and have 5cc in my band.
