@ A standstill :/

Jan 27, 2012

Now that the holidays are over, I'm in a rut. Over the Christmas holidays I gained 4 lbs. Which is actually good compared to the normal person. I'm working to get it off. I lost all 4 then gained 2 back. I still have 28 lbs to go. Due to my fiance going back to school, going to the gym has been a difficult thing to do. However, we are moving to a place where I can jog outside. Thank God!!! I think that would help me a lot.

It's great to see ppl i haven't seen in years. I look completely different. That's a good thing.

OH AAAANNDD....my hair is thickening back up. This makes me so so happy.

I hope everyone is doing well. GOD BLESS!!

10 yr HS reunion!!

Nov 29, 2011

So I had my 10 yr high school reunion the other night. We had a great time. Everyone said I looked so good. Me and 3 other girls had lost so much weight since high school. My outfit was awesome and my hair was great. I bought shampoo and conditioner called Mane and Tail. Absolutely love it.

Since my last post, I did find out what was happening with my dizziness and all. When I went to the doctor. My blood sugar was 73. So so so not good at all. He got all over me about my eating habits. Told me to get some sugar chews from walmart just in case it gets so low again. But since that's happened I've been doing really good. I've headed back to the gym after being out for 2 weeks. I'm feeling a whole lot better than before.

Thanksgiving was great even though I worked the entire day. No overeating and hardly any dessert. But wonderful food nonetheless.

Next is my boyfriends work Christmas party. Bought a new outfit. Have to say, IT'S AWESOME!!! Oh oh oh....had an experience I MUST share......

I shop at CATO store a lot. Now, if you know anything about CATO, most of the time when you walk in, the left is plus size and the right is regular/junior size. So i walk it and go to the left......habit. I'm looking and looking for something to wear to my reunion. I was getting frustrated. And it hit me......everything was to big on that side. I had to go to the other side. It was kind of nice. My size now is a 16 in pants and a L or XL shirt....from a size 22/24 pants and a 3x/2x shirt.

I'm pretty good right now. Hope everyone is wonderful. God Bless and Happy Holidays!!!

rough time :(

Oct 25, 2011

It's been a while. I've had a rough time. Yes I'm still losing. The scale is saying 188 as of my doc visit last week. Yes, a doc visit. I went for a cold and for dehydration. He gave me an antibiotic and told me to get musinex OTC. As for the dehydration, he's thinking I am anemic and B12 deficient. So....he prescribed me a B12 nasal spray and drew blood to test for anemia, which made me so sick (nausea, dizzy, it was horrible). Let me back up....I have been getting dizzy a lot for the past couple of months. Thinking is as not drinking enough fluids, I increased my fluid intake. I pee A LOT. But I still get dizzy. Especially going from a sitting to a standing position and when I stand for long periods of time. I'm also cold pretty much all the time. I just see it as losing 90 lbs of insulation....yeah I'm gonna be cold. My body's not use to being this weight. So I'm waiting for my follow up and in the mean time I am taking it easy. I don't jog as much as I use to. I do walk, but not as far. I kinda hate it. Gotta get myself better. My goal is for my next blog to be filled to the top with wonderful news.....but until then.....I'm relaxing.

God bless :)

A TOAST LADIES AND GENTS!!!

Sep 19, 2011

To my size 16 pants!!! WOOHOO!!! Although I'm not at my goal weight yet, I'm getting there. I'm at 194.6 from 278. All i can say is WOW!!! I'm almost 7 months out from surgery. Just being under 200 lbs is amazing to me. I was at a plateau there for about 3 weeks. Not losing, but not gaining either. I'm having difficulty with my eating still. Not only what I eat but when I eat. I've tried the timer on my cell, and watching the clock and so on. I take it one day at a time. I try and take my meds and vitamins everyday. I'm better with them than I am with eating. Struggling with my hair still. I know it's from my protein intake. Still working on that. I'm a work in progress. People look and me and don't even recognize me most of the time. A friend told me today I don't look like I weight 194. She said I look like i weight 140...lol. Made me feel pretty good.

As i said before. I will take it one day at a time. Hope everyone is well. God Bless

DOUBLE TAKE...PRICELESS :)

Aug 24, 2011

But first...my numbers.Since Jan of this year to today, Aug 24, 2011 I have lost...82 lbs. WOOHOO!!!! From 278 to 196 lbs. I was told from the very beginning that WLS was not a "fix all"....that was understood. It is a tool. Combined with correct diet and exercise you will get maximum results. Well my diet has been horrible this week, not gonna lie. As far as working out. This week I was the one walking in the store saying "this is my workout". Last  week I did a good job. I have to get back on track. Understood....

Now....yes I received a "double take" earlier today. I was at walmart getting some SmartOnes meals for work tonight. I look up and see a friend of mine I haven't seen in years. He looked up, down and snatched his head back up and smiled. "DOUBLE TAKE"...lol. I LOVE IT. We didn't talk. Didn't have time. But just the look on his face, PRICELESS

ANNNND...I SCREAM!!!!!!

Aug 07, 2011

UNDER 200 LBS!!!! That's right ladies and gents. I weigh 198.4 lbs. I have to weigh 4 times just to make sure..lol. I can't remember the last time I was under 200 lbs. Wow!!! So as a reward I'm taking a few day off of work next month and me and my fiance are going somewhere. Don't know where just yet.

Hitting the gym on a regular basis. Well, as regular as my schedule allows. I only miss maybe one or 2 days a week. I try and do cardio at least once a day.

Eating is a lot better. Timing and all that jazz. Protein, protien, protien......of course. Still drinking water like it's the elixor of life.

Oh and our insurance changed at work, completely SUCKS!!! They don't cover anything to do with WLS. So...yeah i'm pretty much screwed on my follow up appt and all. But imma do my best. Pray for my with the insurance thing.

HOPE EVERYONE IS WELL. GOD BLESS.

POSTER CHILD 4 WHY EYE DOCS ROCK!!!!!

Jul 30, 2011

Back in August of 2010 I go to my eye doctor complaining with so much pressure behind my eyes I felt like they were going to bust out of my head. I've been going there for years. I love every single one of them. I told Rhonda, the exam lady, "Rhonda please, I feel so so much pressure. Can u check the pressure behind my eyes and see whats up?" She says "sure DeeAnna, no problem". So she checks it, a long with the cover ur rite eye, read the letters, then left, read the letters and so on. Well my pressure was normal. I was so confused. In comes Dr. Swanson, one of my eye docs. I'm rattling off my symptoms. Pressure in my head and eyes, dizziness, temporary loss of vision in my left peripheral vision and the most annoying whooshing sound in my left ear that I've been hearing for the past 6 months.

Dr. Swanson does the bright light thing and takes some lovely photos of my eyes. He comes back and tells me that there is so much pressure on my optic nerves causing them to swell. He gave me my chart. Had me check out. Told me not to got to work that night, to leave from the office and go straight to the hospital for a MRI. And so I start freaking out. He never said out right but I think they were looking for a tumor. Thank the good Lord above the MRI was fine. The doc from the ER sent me to a neurologist were he diagnosis me with pseudotumor cerebri, broken down it's a massive fluid build up around my brain. And in my case it was causing my to have papledema (swelling of the optic nerves). The neurologist did a spinal tap. Now, a normal opening pressure on a spinal tap is between 16-20. Mine was 58. My neurologist about fell out his chair...lol. Once he did the spinal tap I was ok, for the most part. The pressure was about a 30. That's all I could stand. He tells me I have 2 options. I can either have a shunt placed. That will only help with the draining of the fluid OR i can have gastric bypass. He said losing a lot of weight will somehow help balance out the fluid in my body. And in the long run help with diabetes, heart problems and high blood pressure, all which run in my family and I was almost sure to get as I get older.

I had my gastric bypass on Feb 28. As of today I am down 73 lbs. I went to the eye doc yesterday. I saw Dr. Glass (ironic, I know, but that's his name) He was so "stoked" (his word not mine..lol). He looked at my optic nerves and said they are back to NORMAL. I have to tell you, going from them say "DeeAnna if you don't do something you will go completely blind...and soon" to "DeeAnna ur optic nerves are back to normal"....i wanted to cry. And to think it all started with a trip to the eye doctor. Dr. Glass told me I was the poster child for why optometrist rock!!!! I have to say IM LOVIN' LIFE RIGHT NOW!!!!

PLYOMETRICS

Jul 19, 2011

You talkin' about a workout....my goodness. Plyometrics is like jump training. Lots and lots of jumping. An excellent cardio workout. You can look it up on YouTube. We started that last week. You are only suppose to do it once or twice a week. You will be tired and you will be sore. I will say my endurance is higher and my legs are getting toner. I'm feeling great. My weigh-in is Thursday. Last week I was down to 207 lbs.

They say to set small goals. I don't really know what goals to set. The manager of the gym did say that if we got better at doing plyometrics we could possibly do a class once a week. That would be interesting...lol.

My eating has gotten better. Still having problems with my hair coming out. I'm taking biotin and iron. I'm watching my protein intake but I don't really know what else to do. If anyone has any suggestions, please share. I'm also going to bring it up at my next appt.

Hope everyone is well. God bless.
