non scale victory

Sep 05, 2011

i went shopping yesterday for some new pants for work because the old ones keep falling down. i couldn't believe it. size 18/20. OMG. i was a 32 when i started this journey. i am so happy. wish i could do something about the flabbiness though on my stomach and underarms. o well, one thing at a time.

i have lost half of what i want to at this point. feeling great. like what i see in the mirror. just want to encourage you to stay with it and you will get where you want to go too. for those still trying to decide, do it, you won't regret it.

feeling great

Jun 11, 2011

it has been just over 4 months since my surgery. i have lost over 80 lbs and feel great. bought a new bathing suit that is a size 24- big difference from the size 32 i was wearing. when i first had my surgery, a friend who had a baby and was losing weight gave me a pair of size 22 jeans. i told her those are too small for me, but she said see it as a goal thing to fit into them. i was hesitant to believe it ,but i took them anyway. yesterday i tried them on just for the heck of it. 1 inch more and they will fit. OMG it has been so awesome. everyday i have people telling me how great i look. i also have people who are overweight asking me how they can get the surgery because they want to look and feel better like i do. it is a great feeling to inspire others.

a couple days ago, i went shopping and bought a shirt i really liked. it is a size 22/24. today i took pics of me from front and side and i am amazed at the difference from the ones a month ago. still kind of amazes me that it is happening so quick. 70 lbs in 3 months. wow.

i am definitely feeling better. i have more energy, can go up the stairs without being easily winded and am sleeping better. no more snoring or sleep apnea. still don't have a scale at home, so not sure what the weight loss is. most people would go crazy without weighing themselves, but i am ok with it. i know that i was a size 32-34 when i started and now my size 26 clothes are fitting well again.  we moved into a new house that has stairs and so i am getting some exercise going up and down them. now that i am more than 7 weeks out, i am thinking of exercise and not sure what to do. some exercises hurt still due to previous back surgery, but i will find something.
