"Although I live in a sizeable city with plenty of excellent options for a WLS surgeon, I heard so many great things about a doctor in Anniston, AL. I did research and found that even my insurance company recommends him. From the moment I called to make an appointment to attend a \"conference\" I will tell you that the level of customer service that they deliver is outstanding. Dr. Freeman has undergone WLS and many of his staff also have undergone the surgery so they have personal knowledge. He calls it a \"ministry\" and that is what it is. One profound thing he said during the meeting was that getting help with weight loss was a sign of courage and strength and not failure. rnThey have a person on staff who pretty much devotes all of her time to working with insurance approvals. You provide your insurance information at the beginning and by the end of the conference she has a list of the specific insurance criteria relative to each person in attendance. I can't tell you enough about how refreshing it is to be called by name and have people actually remember who you are when you call for assistance. rnDr. Freeman and his staff provide detailed information on both \"bypass\" and \"banding\" surgeries even showing the pros & cons of each. They have tons of before and after pictures. They give detailed info on aftercare. You even have to take a test to show that you actually heard and understood the information given. rnI am scheduled for surgery on January 15th.
