Amazing life.....

Sep 14, 2009

Ok, I've reduced my BMI from 36.5 to 26.1 (only 1.2 away from "normal" weight).  I've gone from a size 22 to a size 12, and have never been hungry yet.  There have been many episodes of nausea and discomfort, but nothing so bad that I have ever regretted the surgery.  My blood pressure is down to 85/57, so they will soon take me off one of my medications.  I am exercising daily and actually sometimes enjoy it.  My biggest problem now is finding time to shop when I have to drop a size every 3-4 weeks!  Not a problem I'm going to complain about much!

But the biggest news of all - I have met the most amazing man!  He had lap band last year and has lost 100 pounds, and we share plates!  He has asked me to marry him, and I have said yes.  I know that NONE of this would have happened if I hadn't made the decision to change my life.  I realize that the confidence I feel now is what he is attracted to, and I would never have regained that at the weight I was when I finally decided to get off my butt and do something about it!

We are planning a wedding for March 20, and they shipped my BEAUTIFUL princess-cut 1-carat engagement ring overnight today.  CAN'T WAIT to get it (and it's a size 7 ring, not a size 9 like I wore before!).

I'm absolutely overflowing......I remember to thank God for my blessings EVERY day.....

Totally and completely happy......

May 11, 2009

Here I am on day 12, having lost  pounds without once being hungry, naseated, in any semblance of severe pain, and without feeling deprived.  I have never in my life been more satisfied with any decision, and am actually hopeful, for the first time in YEARS, that I will lose the weight this time.  For me, the rules are easy to follow, especially when I see such results.  Would I like to chew on a big old greasy hamburger?  Well, the memory sounds delicious, but I can't imagine eating 2-3 bites - and then I'd probably feel like crap.  No, I'll stick with my eggs and mushies, and be perfectly happy.

I DO have an uncanny craving for sweet pickles, but can't appease it, since I'm a little afraid to eat something that crunchy yet.  I am able to eat tomatoes, which are a passion of mine.  I have not taken an injection of my diabetes medication, Byetta, since the surgery and the doctor suspects I won't have to take it ever again!  I DO get a little tired of vitamins (3 calcium citrate, 2 multi-vitamin, B-12, and iron) but it's a VERY small price to pay and I'm HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY.  I start back teleworking 4 hours a day on Thursday (which will be 2 weeks after my surgery on 4/29) and am looking forward to the looks on their faces when they see me - YEP, you can already tell a difference.

Life is good!!!!!!!
