My story is similar to many others. As a younger child I had a tight THICK body and i was slightly overweight. As I got older, and was spoiled by my grandparents, my baby fat grew to a bit more chunkiness. I was always overweight as a child but I never became crazy until after puberty. At an earlier age I lost my grandmothers and I learned how to emotionally eat. It was at the middle school age I started to binge eat. I learned how to order delivery and I haven't stopped since. By the time I was 14 years old I weighted a startling 209lbs. Prior to starting high school I decided I wanted a new start. I went to fat camp that year and lost 15lbs in 4 weeks. I had a great time and I went home armed to lose more weight. However, I gained the freshman 15 in high school. So after some more delivery and the loss of another close relative, I returned back to camp and lost 20lbs. At this point I was 16 years old at 187lbs. I still had a thick body but I was lucky my skin was tight and I didn't look so heavy. By the third year back at camp I weighed 210lbs and was determined to keep it off this time. Still as I got more involved in school I ate at later hours and ate more junk food. I stressed over school and ate to feel better about things. By the time I started college, I weighed 225lbs. Throughout freshman year I had the typical college experience with parties and going out to eat late nights on adventures with friends. It didn't help that when I met my boyfriend he was comfortable with my weight. From February 2009 to now I have gained over 60lbs. I have fought to get to were I am today and I fought to get the support I have for my journey. At first my parents were completely against the idea of getting the surgery. Now as my surgery is right around the corner, we ALL couldn't be happier.
