 Today was my first appt. after surgery
 Their records have me down 23 lbs since surgery. Who can complain!!!   They remove my staples. Didn't hurt at all :) They replaced them with some type of strip band aid...they said they would fall off on their own   Then we went downstairs to nutrionist.   For the next 2 weeks I will be on Full liquids, rather then the clear liquids Ive been on since before surgery, I was :( that I am not to puree diet yet but I am thankful for any new add ons.... Broth was so blah....   The item I am excited about that she said I could have is   All juices as long as they are less then 15 g of sugar. Even orange juice once a day :) Just no pulp in any   I am also now allowed all the sugar free pudding one girl could want ....LOL   even coffee con leche made decafinated with skim milk and splenda!!!!   not to mention my protein shakes. I got them in vanilla and can use any sugar free syrup she showed me a site that sells every flavor under the sun!!! i can also use hersheys  sugar free chocolate syrup and strawberry.....   Soups are still pretty blah to me cause they have to be strained. I am not allowed any pieces or chunks of anything..not even pulp in the juices.....and low fat Soups allowed  cream of chicken , mushroom,broccoli or tomato   i am also allowed baby food fruits as long as they are low sugar she said to start with apple, banana   I can also now have sugar free gum   So still no real food but a big enough chance to make me happy.   I have been cleared for walking slow on my treadmill....now they watch for blood clots...   and I have to wait 6 weeks for my pool :(   Big Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo   
But all and all
  I am a very happy camper  

Well I am very happy to report that I finally had my surgery on Wed Sept 8, 2010 with Dr. Sosa.
I will say that 5 days out and it was totally worth it. The first day right after surgery was hard but nothing extreme.
The next morning I was already feeling much better. In fact right after the recovery room physical therapy
came to get me out of bed. It felt great to be up and on the road to recovery..Though yes I was asking for my meds!!

Friday when I came home I felt really good and happy. Really only had the soreness from the staples.
Again not too bad.

Today is Monday after my surgery and I am already down  23 pounds from my heighest and 15 from the surgery.
I am a very happy camper. I am still on clear liquid diet. Look forward to any added items since I have been doing this
9 days now. Broth, Jello , SF Pops, Crystal Light.  My brain needs something new :) Mind you I say my brain cause my new tummy feels full all the time. I have all I can do to get in the vitamins and proteins and water.

I am still sore...Staples come out this Thursday. Hope by then I feel less soreness. Also I pray staples being removed dont hurt. I am a chicken!!!

All and All I can already say I am very happy. Wish I would of been able to find a way to do it sooner. I wasted so many years of my life being unhappy and miserable. Ready to make up for them all :)

Thank You Dr. Sosa :) I know you are not very talkative but I just hope you know how happy you are making us!!!!

I can't believe it is finally happening. I got my surgery date.

Sept 8. Only a week away.

I have dreamed of this for so long, I am in shock that its going to happen.

Extremely Happy but also nervous now that its so close


FYI We ended up paying cash and financing.

As you see it's been 6 months from my last post. Turns out my insurance was canceled when my husband got laid off unexpected. Still havent gotten the surgery but, that hasnt stop me from trying.
I've been hoping for around 10 years for my day to come.
I think it may finally be my time!!!!!!!!!!
We decided to apply for credit.
Our credit is pretty bad so really didnt expect to get it.
However, we were approved for one program called
" No one left behind"
You have to pay half down and the rest is paid by credit.
Thats a big help!!!
Normally we probably wouldnt have half but just been putting everything we could away hoping to one day have enough.
I am hoping to hear this week my surgury date. Hoping it will be this month.
Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me.

I have been hoping for years to be able to get WLS. However every insurance I have ever had for the past 10 years was not the lucky one that got you through the doors of a surgeon.
Sure I have been to all the free seminars to learn all about the surgeries. yet when it gets to the point of insurance check I was turned away. Very Frustrating when ever doctor I have ever been in front of tells me I am the perfect candidate.

Well as of  Jan 2010 my luck has seemed to change....They have pre run my insurance through and told that I finally have the right coverage.
I am so excited yet don't want to get too happy until I get a surgery date.

I have gone to the nutrienist and will be going to the therapist this week....

Then I will meet with the surgeon for a face to face.

Keeping my fingers crossed that my time has finally come.
