Oh Happy Days!

WOOHOO! The pounds are coming off and it hasn't been difficult at all to follow the diet. 16 lbs. in a week! Hallelujah!!! I start my mushy diet today.
I'm so excited. I get pureed chicken. I've been craving broiled chicken breasts and said that was going to be my first meal, so tonight guess what we're having?
After the vicodin reaction things have just been smooth sailing. I've felt great and able to do just about everything I did before. I'll be going back to work on 8/13, no problem. YEAH!! YEAH!!
I'm getting my old calves back. I can wear my dd's shoes, my feet and legs
aren't swelling anymore!!
Just sitting here drinking on my decaf. coffee with my non-fat dairy creamer, exactly 1tsp. Never in my life didn't I measure before, I just poured!
I'm loving it!!
Home Sweet Home
Aug 03, 2007
Well, after arriving home I took my Loritab, (when really, I should have just taken Tylenol because my pain wasn't bad at all). Unfortutanely I had an allergic reaction and had what felt like a hot flash for about 5 hrs. I kept taking my temp and it was 99.8, 99.9. My nerves were shot because I was having this reaction and it made me extremely nervous. Fortunately, our pharmacist was able to assist me and with some benadryl and tylenol I was able to calm down a bit. I had a similar reaction at the hospital but just thought the room was hot! woosh, that wasn't fun at all.
My surgery
Jul 31, 2007
I woke up puking my gutts out from the anesthesia. (Positive note:None of my other buddies at the hospital had that experience). That was not fun at all! Very sick. Didn't even want to open my eyes to talk to my husband because I knew I'd throw up again. After that subsided, I was able to get up and go to the bathroom. When I sat on the potty I looked at my gown and it was covered in blood and it was dripping down my gown. Freaked me out!! They put a pressure bandage on it and checked my labs, changed my bandages a few times and it was fine. I was fine and doing well Saturday morning. (someone asked that I share every detail, so I am). I prayed I didn't have to go back to surgery and go under anesthesia again!! After the night of surgery, I did very well. It was hard for me on Sat. to get all the required liquids, and although I was doing very well, walking and not having a lot of pain my dr. felt that I needed to stay one more night to get those fluids in. I am really grateful that he did because I think I set a record for fluids that afternoon and was sent home the next day.
The Day Before Surgery
Jul 26, 2007
Second day of the liquid diet. Unfortunately, I woke up yesterday with what felt like a migraine and I still feel a bit nauseated and have a dull headache. I'm supposed to load up on liquids today and I can't believe I'm having trouble doing that already. Was hoping to get so much done today but just not feeling well.
Surgery tomorrow, wish me luck!!
Pre-op Day
Jul 24, 2007
Today was a very busy day. I saw Dr. Swartz and went to the hospital for my lab work, etc., Feels like I'm saying goodbye to the old me tonight. It's just really weird. Tomorrow I start my liquid diet and the old eating habits stop. I was kind of sad until I saw my side profile in the mirror and thought, oh, yeah, you are doing the right thing!
It's like I'm staying up late cause it's my last night to be with the old me.. Just very strange.
Today I had a lady at the hospital tell me she didn't think I was that big and didn't think I should have the surgery. I didn't tell her my history of dieting since 11 cause I really didn't think it was any of her business. She was nice about it but it was too funny, I'm waiting to have my lab work and a stranger tells me I don't need surgery. I've gone this far without in hassels, guess there's got be at least one.
