OK so on Thursday Oct 1st, I asked my doctor to run a AC1 test on me.  Now for those who are not familiar with AC1, it's a blood test that gives an average blood sugar level over 2-3 months.  He was curious to know why I would request the test in the first place, and so I explain to him my family history of diabetes and also the fact that I am overweight so I felt that the test would be important. 
Now today Thur Oct 8th the results were in and he called to relay that bit of information to me.  A normal AC1 level is anything between 4-5.9 %.  In poorly controlled diabetes, its 8.0% or above, and in well controlled patients it's less than 7.0%, he explained to me and told me that mines was 6.5%.  My mouth fell open and I wanted to cry, but I was at work and didn't want the extra attention .  The results revealed that to some I would be diabetic as I have never had this diagnosis before, but my doctor wanted to let me know that I'm at a stage where exercise and diet plus weight loss could eliminate this possibility.
I am now more than ever determined to stick to my new lifestyle of dieting and exercising and now completing the process to get my WLS approved.  Although I may become nervous, I know that God is always with me...my rock,my strength, and my provider.  As I take even larger steps, I remain prayerful and stay forever motivated .

As I complete my information packet to return to the surgeon, I have to wonder if I am making the right decision.  For years I've battled with my weight, and after having children it became almost impossible to get rid of this spare tire I carry with me everyday.  But I can't help but think, can I actually go through with this?  I know the risk and benefits of both having the surgery and not having the surgery. Does anybody else have or has had the pre surgery gitters? Help me out here.
