WOW 15 LBS DOWN... I LOVE IT

Jun 28, 2008

OMG- She has really done it this month. Melissa after getting a fill 4 weeks ago has lost 15.3 lbs. I am so happy, I can see how much more motivated seeing this number than when she has a few months of low losses. Being a support group leader and now working to become a Life Coach propels her further into her passion for public speaking. She impresses me so much her love for me, our girls and my mom grows as she shows this by the care for her health, proved through her strength in losing weight. I know that I sound like a broken record but I am so proud of her and of any person who can make this type of a life changing decision. As the great Dr. Rehnke says “You didn’t gain it in a day and you won’t loose it in a day”. But 15.3 in 4 weeks WOW. I just love her so much and ask God to keep her on this track towards continued health.

Time flies

Jun 11, 2008

I can't believe we are less than a week away from our next meeting.   One of my good friends from my office had lapband surgery yesterday.   I left a message at her home so I am hoping to hear from her later this week!

We need some topics for discussion.   Is there anything in particular you would like to discuss?  I have some ideas but would like to hear from everyone else.

I got a fill about 2 weeks ago.  For those of you who are not banders that is when the Doctor injects saline into the band to make it a bit snugger.   For the first time it is pretty snug.   I'm thinking we hit the sweet fill which has been eluding me.   I am able to eat about 2 oz at each meal.

It has been hard for me to get my family to realize that food just isn't the same for me.  I still love to cook for them but it hard for me to decide what food to fix because I rarely eat what they are having.  Ira has been helping by planning out a menu so we can shop by it and then there are fewer questions about what is for dinner.

Well time to get back to sending out more invites to our meeting!

Update on Support group training

Have to wait just a little longer to complete training. June classes were cancelled, but I will be the first to sign up for July. Melissa is doing great. I am so proud of her.

Support Group Training

Jun 02, 2008

Today I started support group leaders training. It was absolutly fantastic. I want to be able to not only help Melissa in her group but work to help others who not only have had surgery, waiting for surgrey, plus those of us who support pre and post surgical patients. To me eduation is power and the education to be able to help people have a better quality of life is great. I cannot wait to finish my training on June 11 and be certified.

She never stops amazing me.

Last night Melissa led her first Group Meeting for O.H. We had about 8 people including us there. Melissa has worked very hard not only losing weight, but training many hours to become a Group Leader.  Training for this group and watching her last night just continues to show her deep passion for Bariatric Surgery. I truly believe that if we could afford some day “to take her show on the road” we would. Melissa and I cannot wait to see all of you again next month. And not to brag again but I love her so much for what she is doing for herself and others.
